Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic form made from chlorophyll: during manufacturing, the central magnesium is replaced with copper and the phytol tail is removed, leaving a mixture of salts that dissolve in water (Linus Pauling Institute, Oregon State University, “Chlorophyll and Chlorophyllin” (2021)). That is why this product is a liquid that mixes with water. The same source explains that, in lab tests, chlorophyllin neutralizes several oxidants, while noting that how much this matters in people is not clear. The label says this complex provides antioxidant support and works as an internal deodorant.*

Copper, 6 mg per serving (667% Daily Value). It comes from the same chlorophyllin copper complex, not added separately. Copper is a mineral the body needs for several enzymes to work: one helps produce energy inside cells, another cross-links the collagen and elastin fibers of connective tissue, others help handle iron and another works as an antioxidant (Linus Pauling Institute, “Copper” (2024)). What sets it apart:

It contains chlorophyllin from chlorophyllin copper complex, as the label states, not plain leaf chlorophyll. According to the Linus Pauling Institute, Oregon State University, “Chlorophyll and Chlorophyllin” (2021), animal studies show only about 1% to 3% of plain chlorophyll is absorbed, while a chlorophyllin derivative (copper chlorin e4) was found in the blood of people taking chlorophyllin. That finding was in the serum, from chlorophyllin tablets at 300 mg a day; this serving is 132 mg. And the label gives the exact amount: 132 mg of chlorophyllin per serving.
