What Scandinavian Formulas Good Breath is

Scandinavian Formulas Good Breath is a softgel supplement of parsley seed oil and sunflower seed oil. A serving of 3 softgels has 100 mg of parsley seed oil and 120 mg of sunflower seed oil, and the blister pack holds 60 softgels, 20 servings. It costs $8.00, about $0.40 per 3-softgel serving (our own math). Free shipping in Puerto Rico on orders from $35, or pick it up at our store in Galería Paseos.

The front of the pack reads «Be confident with Good Breath™» and «60 Softgels».

What Good Breath is used for, per the pack

The pack explains it this way: «Now you can enjoy all the garlic, onions, and spicy foods that you love without the fear of bad breath. Good Breath™ works from the inside out, in the digestive system where bad breath often originates, combatting even offenders like coffee and cigarette smoke.»

And about what it contains: «Contains only parsley seed oil and sunflower seed oil in a soft gelatin capsule. Contains no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, preservatives, sugars, milk, lactose, soy, gluten, wheat, yeast, fish or sodium.»

The pack says Good Breath «usually lasts up to six hours».

Its ingredients and what they do in the body

Parsley seed oil (100 mg per 3-softgel serving). The pack's table lists it as «Parsley Seed Oil 100 mg* (Petroselinum crispum) from 0.2 mg of 500:1 concentrate (equivalent to 100 mg of fresh parsley seeds)». Parsley is the plant the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) PLANTS database lists as Petroselinum crispum, in the carrot family (Apiaceae). The FDA's federal regulation (eCFR, 21 CFR 182.10 and 182.20) includes parsley among the spices and the essential oils and natural extractives generally recognized as safe for their intended use in food. The role the pack gives the formula is the one quoted above: working «in the digestive system where bad breath often originates».

What sets it apart: the parsley comes from seed and in concentrated form, «from 0.2 mg of 500:1 concentrate (equivalent to 100 mg of fresh parsley seeds)», per the pack's table, and it comes as an oil inside a softgel, with no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners per the same pack.

Sunflower seed oil (120 mg per 3-softgel serving). It is the other ingredient in the table, «Sunflower Seed Oil 120 mg* (Helianthus annuus)». Sunflower is the plant the USDA PLANTS database lists as Helianthus annuus, common sunflower, in the aster family (Asteraceae). The pack does not print a function of its own for it: the softgel carries both oils together.

Gelatin and vegetable glycerin. They are the other ingredients, «Gelatin, Vegetable Glycerin», and make up the softgel. The FDA's regulation (eCFR, 21 CFR 182.1320) recognizes glycerin as generally safe when used in accordance with good manufacturing practice.

These explanations describe normal body functions; they are not results measured with this product.
