Dr. Norman's Liverplex is a 90-capsule vegetarian herbal blend for the liver. It is a dietary supplement, not a medicine: it does not treat fatty liver, hepatitis, gallstones or “detox” the liver.

The bottle lists those four herbs together. It does not give a milligram split per plant.

• Adults looking for milk thistle (cardo mariano) in a Dr. Norman formula, with boldo, dandelion and wormwood.
• Not a treatment for liver disease, bile-duct blockage or gallbladder stones.
• Not a “liver cleanse.” The liver already does that job.

How to take it

The bottle says: two (2) capsules, two (2) times a day. Water. Store at room temperature. Do not use if the outer seal is missing.

Allergens and cautions

The label says it is free of gelatin, corn, soy, wheat, milk, egg, fish, sugar, starch, artificial colors and preservatives. It does not name sesame, tree nuts or shellfish; if that is your allergy, check the bottle you receive.

• Milk thistle, dandelion and wormwood are in the daisy family (asteraceae). If ragweed, chamomile or calendula bother you, start with care or skip it.
• Pregnant, nursing, on medication, or with a liver or bile-duct condition: ask a clinician first — the bottle says so.
• Stop and call a clinician if you have an adverse reaction. Keep out of reach of children.
